It’s good to see some people blogging. Finally!. Just because ronnie wants people to blog, here I am. Though I don’t have much to write at the moment but sure I will try.

Few days ago I upgraded the Wordpress version from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7. This was another security upgrade which was released just about 10 days after 2.0.6 release. Wonder what the folks at Wordpress development are doing? Releasing new versions every few days. Anyway I upgraded the blog..

I will also let you know of some strange things happening on this blog. Few months ago a catholic priest from England by the name of “Father K Gallagher” registered on this blog. Why would a catholic priest from England register on this blog? Well, he is researching some family members in Kanpur! yes. His grandfather’s relatives etc. settled in kanpur in 1860! and the family was called “Coyne”. They apparently ended up marrying locals and settled here. He is just curious to know if anyone in kanpur would know about them or help him find his family members. If anyone is willing to help this person please contact us and I will send you a copy of the email that father Gallagher sent to us.

There has been a lot of spam being posted on this blog recently as well. Currently there isn’t any spam filter on this blog except for for just a word filter. However, every comment needs to be approved by the moderator before it can be posted. I have been deleting a lot of spam. The contact us page was also receiving lot of junk/spam. Bots are pretty robust and intelligent these days. They were going on the contact us page and filling out all the details and then submitting the form. Now they can’t. Well at least currently because I have added a arithmetic question that only a human can answer! (Hopefully). Anyone who wants to contact us using the contact us page now has to answer a simple arithmetic question before they can submit. In the past few months ever since I implemented that, I haven’t received any spam contact us queries. Seriously no one here would like to know what spam messages come through! and yes you guessed it right, they are obscene and inappropriate. :(

I can’t think of anything else right now. Finally thanks to ronnie for giving some life to this blog.
